How can candidates be the best version of themselves in an interview?
Andy Cuddy’s ground-breaking research on body language suggests there are some easy hacks to acing an interview:
- Think about your body language, do you have an open or closed posture. A closed posture will release the stress hormone cortisol which inhibits your ability to be the real you.
- Try a power pose, hands on hips/arms in the air, legs apart. These will release testosterone, which will put you at ease & allow you to confidentially talk about your experience, skills & suitability for a post.
- The research shows that using a power pose for 60 seconds meant that candidates was more likeable, more articulate and more likely to be given the job.
